Men’s Health Week
This week is Men’s Health Week. It always runs the week up to Fathers Day and is a dedicated week which focuses on health concerns which impact men.
The week helps raise awareness of the importance of men to look after ourselves, manage and potentially address any health worries in a positive way. To possibly take charge of their lifestyle and wellbeing and seek medical support if it is needed.
Sadly research still suggests many men do not seek or access support regarding their physical and emotional wellbeing. There is still a stigma attached to men that it is not ok to seek support and consequentially the suicidal rate in young men especially is still very high.
If there is anything you decide to do this week, take a step to make a difference for your health either emotional wellbeing or physical wellbeing, even if its just getting a check up with your GP.
