It's the little things
We all live very busy lives, usually trying to juggle work, family, household chores and even socialising. Do you have a list of jobs, which seems to get longer rather than actually getting shorter, even though you have managed to complete some of the tasks? Sadly this seems to be our way of living. The more we do and the more we rush around seems to show how successful we are but does it?
It has taken me a long time to realise how important work-life balance really is. How important it is to have time for yourself. We can spend so much time rushing around but to actually slow down, stop and listen can work wonders for our energy levels, our wellbeing and being able to cope when life gets stressful.
This isn't being selfish by any means, it's looking after ourselves but also it enables us to be there for one another. To share a smile with someone who is looking upset, to ask if someone is ok when looking stressed. To even stop and take time to help someone who might have dropped their shopping or to stop and say hello with a complete stranger. This could make someones day, a small task and mean so much to someone and you never know one day it might actually be you needing someone to be willing to stop.
The next time you're rushing around, stop and try it. Say hello, share a smile, you might be surprised at what happens.
