Walking Month of May
May is the month for National Walking. It is the time to get out the house, enjoy time with nature and the outside world. So get your walking shoes on and have a go.
We lead such busy life’s and it is so much easier to get in the car to go somewhere because it is quicker and saves time but actually it takes us away from having that time for ourselves, time to think and reflect, time to breathe. It is so easy for us to get caught up in the moment that we do forget to stop and actually can make ourselves poorly. So take this month of May and start a new habit. Start walking for at least 20 minutes every day. Get outside, enjoy the sunshine and cool breeze and start to notice all those little things we take for granted.
Walking is such a good benefit both for our physical health and our emotional wellbeing, plus it is easy to do and free. Why don’t you try it and start walking today. For example, walk and talk with a friend or group of friends, take the dog (or kids) for a walk, walk to work, walk to school, walk to the local shops, walk to a friends house, walk to the local park, walk to town. whatever or wherever you can, try it. You might be surprised at how much better you feel about yourself.
