Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2025
Eating Disorders Awareness Week runs from Monday, 24th February, to 2nd March 2025. The week is used to help build awareness and understanding surrounding eating disorders, as eating disorders can affect anyone. You may know someone who is struggling or has struggled with food.
Commonly, people still think of anorexia or bulimia when we think about eating disorders, but there are many other disorders. Someone may be struggling with binge eating, ARFID (avoid/restrict food intake disorder) or OSFED (other specified feeding or eating disorder). These disorders are complex and usually misunderstood, undiagnosed or mislabelled, which can cause additional challenges for those struggling and who may not be able to get the help they need.
Anyone struggling with an eating disorder should seek help and support. Eating disorders are one of the biggest mental health challenges which can affect anyone at any time. It is not only the person struggling with the condition but also their friends and family. Support is available, and asking for help can be the first step.
